Who I Am
My interests include sociolinguistics (patterns
of language use, language revitalization) and language learning,
data evaluation - understanding and explaining phenomena through
quantitative and qualitative data, and cultural and educational
programming for youth.
As someone who has worked in various youth
program formats over the past decade, I have experience in
program design and implementation, grant writing and grant
budgeting, activity design and redesign, and direct work with
youth. My interest in youth programs is related to my own
experience of learning outside of the school environment and
observing the importance of having supplementary programs/activities
to help students grow and reach their own goals.
In addition, I have evaluated quantitative
data on indigenous language use in Ireland and am familiar
with language planning and secondary language learning.
